This week I wanted something simple to post down to my Mum. With the snow piling up outside and being on red alert I felt the need for some spring colours. I was also itching to play with my new kaleidacolor ink pad from Kerri-Anne at Imagine Design Create
Canvas – 8” x 11 1/2” ( 20 cm x 39 cm )
Brayer (Imagine Design Create)
Thin White CottonLace
Floral Lace Embellishments (Craft Buddy)
Oval Metal Embellishment
Dries Clear glue
Hot Glue Gun
Run your brayer across the ink pad a few times to rotate it and cover the whole of the rubber. I popped a wee box under my canvas to give some stability to the surface and to help the ink take better. Run the brayer over your canvas width ways reloading when needed with more ink. The effect will be like a water colour horizon of a summery field.
Using masking tape position your Dandelion Heart Stencil in the middle of the canvas and tape down.
Apply the Fibre Paste thickly over the stencil. The effect is lovely as you get different heights of paste plus the fibrous edges around the hearts. The Fibre Paste will gradually absorb the ink from underneath giving an incredible pastel shading.
After removing Dandelion Hearts stencil carefully, apply the large dandelion near the edge of the stencil at the same height as Dandelion Hearts. Again apply Fibre Paste.
Now do the opposite side of the canvas facing Dandelion in opposite direction.
Allow fibre paste to dry.
Cut two pieces of lace approx. 1” long than the canvas. Glue these across the top and bottom of your canvas, then glue the excess around the sides and tuck underneath.
Glue your metal embellishment in the centre of your Dandelion Heart.
Glue your four floral embellishments as shown in picture above.
